Help (Toyota Picnic Diesel) Please

1998 2.2 Turbo Diesel, 130K miles - gradually things have broke, like the central locking/alarm and gearbox is a bit stiff on changedown but its driveable.....

.....however, started running rough at the lights, took it to a mechanic and just on my desciption he said I'm pretty sure that it will be your injectors.

Suggested injector cleaner (which is put in anyway reasonably regularly) but its still running rough Apparently if the injectors need attention it can easily be £1K, can this be right please?

130k is considered normal for all injectors test on the fuel stand. The injector cleaner is money for nothing. Having owned ford sierra for 6 years round (2.3 diesel) -I ve noted that the best way is to test injectors regularly as per schedule -- moreover you have to change the injctor tips only and just adjust injection pressure after have assembled. it is clear understood this job must be done by fuel inj. parts specialist. The matter is to buy high quality tips to prolong their life time + use the best diesel with low sulphur. Cheers/Igor

- put quite a large quantity of injector cleaner in, problem muted but not gone away.

Looks like I need to book in with a specialist so sort injectors by the sound. I will start saving.

started looking at buying another car (new), even the cheapest is £6K with trade in so I will try and get it repaired.
