Alarm Going Off - All Hours

Hi Guys

Borrowed my car to my husband and now my alarm keeps going off, if as much as another goes past it. We live close to a bypass which is now a nightmare. Have to leave car unlocked and blocked in on drive. Can't do this on car parks however.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.......

You can reduce the sensitivity of the Alarm by twisting a dial which is underneath the centre console/arm rest.

Metallic objects such as coins or keys left in the same area will also trigger the Alarm.

Assumed it was a fault with the alarm - so to get round it I've locked my car by pressing the fob-lock three times until the indicator lights come on for a couple of seconds, and that stops it from going off - although I've never been able to find out what the difference is between them!

Does anybody know what the difference is between locking the alarm once, twice, and thrice?

Yes

Once = Alarm activated with the proximity sensor active.

Twice = Alarm activated (Now dead locked) with the proximity sensor active.

Third time = Alarm activated (still dead locked) with the proximity sensor De- Activated.

Dead Lock = Even when inside the car it is not possible to open the dorrs, therefore stoppong thieves from being able to open the dor if they smash the window.

I'm able to park in a private car park nowadays and my office window is close by, so I'll move any coins and similar material and test with 1/2 presses tomorrow - hopefully it'll be fine now.

***** knows why I didn't find this out years ago!
