Amp Install 02 Corolla

Hi my first post here, can anyone help me? im currently tring to install an amp and subwoofer anyone have a full guide on how to how to do it, i am currently stuck trying to change the headunit, i cannot remover the lower dash to get at the bolts to remove the headunit. The cables to the heating nobs are stopping me from removing it, is there any way around this? Any help is appriciated

Pull out the middle heating rod control knob (the one that says 1234) and they'll be a hidden Phillips screw :)

As wangtastic said, if you have the T2/T3 version model, then remove the center control knob that controls the fan speed to show some hidden screws that hold the conter console in place, if you have T-Spirit/T-Sport version, then its just a case of pull the center console from where the ashtray is located and pull (rather hard if not been removed before)

As i have a T-Spirit version, i've got pics of how this can be done, and some pics later that will help you too, if you haven't got that far just yet

one other question where is the best place to take the power cable through the firewall?

if there's nowhere it can go through directly inline behind the Battery then just drill yourself a hole through firewall and use a grommet to seal that's the best way i can see of doing it.

ok how would i get behind the dash to check for a place to pass it through?

The way i've always done is to find the main wiring loom on the engine bulkhead and shove it through there.

It usually can be found in the footwell on the passenger side, just behind the glovebox.

If this sounds like hard work, it would be even harder to drill your own grommet point, rustproof it, fit a grommet and still got to feed the cable through it, but it will look more professional looking in the long run
