Hi All

New to this and have a problem with my 2005 55 plate D4D T2 Diesel Avensis 63K miles. Starts no problem when cold, struggles when warm, engine turns over and its trying to fire up then manages to start. Today done a long trip engine hot, turned over fine but did not start, let it cool down for 0.5 hour then struggled and started.

Thanks in advance for any help

Best Regards

hi mate

due to an expanding of contact ends (SCVs) this criates such outcome. CHeck with tighint of el contacts and all must be in order after. Cheers/Igor

Another possible cause could be your starter motor.

I also have a 2004 D4-D T2 and suffered a similar problem. I read through some very useful threads on the forum and opted to replace the starter motor myself which fixed the problem

hi have a t spirit 2004, had a similar problem.car started in the morning or when the engine was cold but when I drove it for 15 minutes I would have to wait for the engine to cool before I could start it. the Battery would turn the starting motor but the engine refused to start. the only option was to wait for the engine to cool. I read here that it was a staring motor problem but I was not convinced as my car started no problem in the morning. went to a mechanic and he was not convinced either and tried to look for other problem. In the end I took the advice from these forums and yes it was the starting motor. I replaced it 6 months ago and have no other starting problem. thanks to the good people on these forums.
