Hi folks

Most cold mornings this year i have gone out to start rav about 10 mins before i leave.(get the heater going etc.etc)

Can the rav4 be locked with the 'spare' key from outside whilst the engine is running (security point of view)?

Mind you in our little hamlet here, there is noone around first thing.

Any thoughts please

Neither Funnerburd Wan nor Funnerburd Too will lock using the remote transpondificator, as I have tried a few times whilst they are ticking over. A couple of folk round here have lost their cars to this practise.

Will it be ok to lock with the key? Don't want to upset alarm system.

Bigger Kev.

Can the SR180/ T180 be driven off without the transponder?

I thought if it detected no key, it would stop moving off (you can still have it warming up at idle without the transponder being nearby)?

Izzat not just for folk wiff "keyless go", MarsK? The transponder I was trying to use is, naturally, the one on the spare key.

Sorry - thought the SR180 came with keyless entry.

Probably one of the few T180 gimmicks that might be useful (rain sensing wipers, auto headlights and electric seats with no memory you can keep).

Snow's coming though - you won't be going out anyway

I have one of those Discloks on mine, so i just leave that on while its warming up, They are a bit cumbersome and I curse it at times, but at least no-one can drive off in my car, I appreciate they can still get in but i don't leave anything of value in there, just the wife occasionaly and Trust me no-one is going to drive off with her :shutit: Stew

......and then with the rather abrupt clutch operation, they stall it at the first junction they've had to stop at, then can't get it started due to absence of transpondificator.....so they set fire to the car, as they did with a neighbour's

convertible Renault thing......insurance company argued for MONTHS....!!

And the car thieves.....? They all died a miserable death within days. Ah, the power of BK Black Magic.........

Mumbo McJumbo

Is "she" available for contract work?? I have a Mercedes truck needing 'attention'... I'd hate to think the 3 tons of firewood in the back would ignite suddenly.
