After Market Alarm

Hi all

just had an alarm fitted to my 2010 hiace, the fitter has told me that he cann't connect it to the central locking or the indicators as the van uses data wiring.

can anyone back this up and let me know if there is an alternative.

Ok, just looked on there website, and it does state is should be able to Remote central door locking (Applies to vehicles fitted with CDL). Being a modular system, if your vehicle doesn't have central locking, you should be able to convert them to be able to have central locking, and another kit should be able to enable this feature.

As for not being able to connect to the indicators, is a load of rubbish, as i've installed a alarm system many years ago in another vehicle, and it is a very simple to do.

Who actually installed your system in anyway, this should of been a very simple install for any car electrican. Get in touch with them again, and ask why it wasn't possible, or why you wasn't advised/told about this BEFORE the install.

As for the data wiring, what does he mean, does your vehicle contain computer somewhere thats collecting all your information about your where abouts and relaying it to someone, or does he mean when it's gets connected to the ECU then your vehicle is connected to a dignsotic computer that it might effect this instead?

You can contact the manufacture, and ask them the same sort of questions.
