Start Problem Corolla Gti Ae92

Hi guys,

I have a start problem with my Corolla 1.6 GTI. It starts in the morning but there is no way to start her in the afternoon.(after work) i have to give it a push

I have changed spark plugs and checked ignition cables.

My mate told me that it may be down to coolant temperature sensor??

Moreover, the Battery and motor starter are fine.

any ideas what could be the problem?

Many thanks

Mac

could be the cold start sensor or the engine temp sensor.

i take it it cranks over in the afternoon. is it stone cold or a little heat left in it?

thanks for your response

yes, it cranks in the afternoon so I guess it needs more time to cool down?

engine also stopped couple of times when i was on halt waiting for someone and then there was no way to start.

BTW-I hope it's the sensor...

might be worth checking for fault codes, (a quick search will tell you how to in detail but you basically bridge E1 & TE1 in the diagnostics port and then read the engine management flashes)

let us know if any codes come up
