Hi Guys,

I have a '93 mk3 Hilux that does not currently meet euro zone 3 emmissions and will need it to by next January. Any advice on what I need for it to pass.

Otherwise I will be required to pay TFL £100.00 a day!!!

Thanks

Hi mate,

Try this link below, put your reg no in and it will tell you

if you will be included in the LEZ. I have a 93 Hilux Surf,

and it's OK. (not subject to LEZ).

Hope this helps.

I have the same problem with going to see my step daughter who lives in London.

I was told that i would need to have a "particulate" filter fitted into the exhaust system and then it would need to be certified by VOSA.

If you travel into London before Jan 2012 you'll only get letters telling you that you won't be able to next year.

Hope this is of some help.

Hi all,

Loads of posts and info about this subject follow the link below.

All it needs is the DVLA to change the log book to read "estate".

Hope this helps.

I thought it was only vehicles which where registered before January 2002. My truck which is 51 plate d/cab hilux would have been subject to the charge.

Although another vehicle just escaped as it a 52 plate!!

You might want to check with DVLA if ur vehicle would be subject to the charge.

This is total crap.

These vehicles are deisel and IMPORTED, they have NO written/certified emission figures which is why they won't pass for the LEZ

I agree but loads of hilux surf are correctly listed on the V5 as "estate" body type which is not subject to the LEZ, my surf unfortunately has listed a "light 4x4 utility" body type which is subject to the LEZ from 3rd January 2012. DVLA wont simply change your V5 even if you submit photo evidence of your car, I have been in a stranglehold with the DVLA since July 2011 and currently my V5 is with them (3rd time I have re-sent it). The DVLA made a whole mess when registering first time the Hilux/Surf in the UK once imported into the territory and they have to sort their own backyard first. It is indeed a much more longer process and a huge waste of time (mine) dealing with the DVLA but there is a way out.
