Aygo 2007 baffle plate Oil leak

The baffle plate is located behind the inlet manifold and is a bit involved

The way I did it was

Disconnect Battery

Remove the front bumper

Remove the alternator so you can get the cat out

Remove the all in one exhaust manifold cat assembly

Drain water

Remove the water pipe

Then you get access to the baffle plate

I used the recommended ThreeBond 1207b sealant but I suppose a gasket could be made refit in reverse order

Excellent clear and concise post, love the well composed photographs.

Ever thought about making a service manual.

Hmm, never seen anything like that before,

baffle plates usually in the sump? But I suppose to make the engine more compact the baffle plate is vertical down the side, kind of like what Ive seen on motorbikes.

Do you think this has been a problem from new. Not enough sealant used to hold the plate on, weeps a bit then eventually gets worse. Had the same problem on a sump on another car not Toyota. No gaskets used, plate is probably fitted by robot in factory.
