Just connected to TOC and my security (MSE) just popped a warning up. Screen shot shown here. Also each time I connect I get message Java is needed to view site correctly (I don't have Java installed by choice) but have never seen this message on here before.

Coincidence ?

My I-Pad hasn't shown any problems... But then it's not Microsoft, so no one cares :crybaby:

I was on TOC when the Trojan struck, out of the blue

For those who don't know the story, I got a sign flash up saying that I had a Trojan & that Microsoft was trying to remove it.

Then I got a notice saying that MicroSoft was "scaning" my computer.

I reckoned that if Scanning was spelled incorrectly, this was part of the Trojan. It wouldn't stop scanning or switch off. I pulled the plug. On reconnecting, I was locked out. Windows wouldn't load.

As far as I would guess, I was on General Discussions/General News Articles.

My incident occurred Oct. last, however.

No problems here. Using Firefox 3.6 with AdBlock and FlashBlock. Also running Symantec Endpoint Protection and Spybot.

Very interesting...

as the OP of this thread I only got as far as clicking TOC from my favourites and don't think I even got as far as going to a forum before problem happened.

No warning today.

What browser are people using? I remember last time there was a virus on the forums and it only effected those on IE. I have had no problems on Chrome!

It happened to me too, using Firefox. Partly my own fault as I hadn't renewed my Norton subscription, but I have now and everything is OK and lesson has been learnt

I was using Chrome and got the warning :P

I understand from Steve that potentially there was an infected advert on the site.... should be fixed now but if anybody gets any further warnings please post them up!

Infected adverts should soooo not happen

I got a warning from autotrader that same day, thats why I traced it to an advert. we share the advert pool as autotrader, so they will get the same infected ads.
