I brought a lovely carina 2 1986 with 3500 miles on the clock a few months ago from a lovely old couple, who had only driven 9000 miles in it since 1991 and garaged it everly time it was not used, therefore the car is still like new, pretty much all parts are original and in full working order, it starts first time every time, and drives like a dreams, i have done 2000 miles in it since i have had it and loved every minute of it, but i have no need for a car so large so i may sell it at some point in the next few months and wonder if any body could give me a idea of what they personally think it is worth.

Unfortunately you are now in a situation where the car is worth more to you on your drive than in a newspaper being advertised for sale.

It seems these days that something that has been lovingly cherished and looked after is worth little more than something well used.

IMO your only hope is to try and advertise it somewhere like eBay with a reserve on it, maybe a classic car mag or some specialised area, maybe even on this forum.

I wish you luck, they were a nice car, my Dad bought one when I bought his Corolla from him many years ago, the Corolla being my first Toyota.

A very interesting example and history. My Carina 2 is a 1990 model and I am the third owner . The last owner had it for 17 years and it is well looked after . It has 68,000 miles on the clock . It drives and looks great. The asking price in my case was £750 but I knocked them down. To insure, it was half this price!!

I remember selling my Rover Vitesse- I was told it was worth only £250 but an enthusiast gave me £1500!

What colour is your car , the transmission etc and do you have a photo?

I love the model and would consider buying it from you when you are ready and when you are happy with a price?
