1994 Camry Engine Dies

I have a 1994 Toyota Camry LE 4 cylinder. Was driving it today, and the engine just shut off, power steering became stiff, and the gas pedal wasn't responsive. Parked it, let it sit and cool down. It started right back up, but died after like 10 minutes or so. When it dies, the check engine light, oil light, and Battery light all come on. It seems like the problem is associated with the engine being hot. Not over-heating, just being hot in general because the temperature gauge is right around the middle when it dies.

There are several other people with this problem based on what I read, but no one has a general answer. Some people think that the fuel filter has water in it. I think this is likely because I did hit a snow bank and the car sat on the snow bank for about a half hour so it is possible water could have got into it, but then again it may not be possible because the fuel filter is under that air box and seems like its in a place where the snow may not have reached.

Others say that it could be a coil inside the distributor? I am not too sure what this does but any other help with diagnosing the problem would be greatly appreciated.

-Thanks.

Even if you parked wit hthe fuel filter under water it would not let water into the filter!! Otherwise fuel would escape. The only real way you could have water in the fuel line/filter would be from condensation in the fuel tank.

Apart from that I've not got a clue is it a 3S or 5S engine?
