Mr2 Mk2 Door Removal?

There is quite a lot of rust appearing on the base of the drivers door so I wanted to replace the door with one from a similar coloured car from a local scrap yard.

Does anyone have a 'how too guide' you can share with me or is it as simple as undoing the hinge bolts and electrical connectors and refitting?

Also, the new door has a silver line down the middle of it, does this peice of trim just pop out from the door so I can replace it with the white one from the old door or do I have to get it resprayed?

Cheers for any replys.

Easy enough to remove just heavy ,unclip all the wiring plugs in the foot well first ,they can be a pain to get out, then undo the retaining bar ,and undo the hinge bolts to the car ,these are self cantering bolts so easy enough to put back in nearly the same place

the trim you speak of is stuck on with double sided tape ,warm it up then prise off gently ,if you go mad it will snap ,don't worry about it getting bent, it will go back to shape when warm ,beware than UK and import strips differ in thickness ,so watch what door you buy

Cheers Biz,

I think the replacment is an import and mine is a UK model. I assume then that the UK strip will fit ok.
