I dont have the actual figures but i was told it wasnt even close to be honest.

The Failure reasons are as follows -

1/ Exhuast emissions carbon monoxide content after 2nd fast idle excessive

2/ Exhaust emissions Lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits

3/ Exhuast emissions hydrocarbon content after 2nd fast idle excessive

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Can't remember where in Scotland you are. With a tuning specialist, it is possible for them to get the engine to optimum and then test it. Simple things like using a better quality petrol helps a little.

If you are close to Glasgow, the guys in the garage I use are good at sorting things. What they don't know about Jap engines isn't worth knowing.

For example on my number 2 RAV, I noticed excessive petrol consumption (ie would fail an MOT no bother). I suspect due to me not using the cars that often, poerhaps, but a breather pipe was pretty clogged and one thing led to another to the point where the ecu was flooding the engine with petrol. They have sorted the fuel issue and I hope to get the car back today after they double check the emmissions on the equipment they have. (They know what it needs to be as they also do MOTs).

I'll send you a PM with their details and I suggest if its in range that you book the car in.
