Morning all,

Went to drive the CTS this morning and its randomly braking when i'm going along, the following lights are on solidly

VSC, TRC OFF and Malfunction Indicator Lamp aswell as the Slip Indication light comes on randomly which makes the car slow down.

Any Idea? Faulty sensor somewhere? Obviously cant drive it until its sorted really.

Cheers

Lee

Have you got access to a code reader?

or could try resetting the ECU and see if it fixes the problem

there is something seriously wrong with the stability control/abs system.

if all of those lights are on, the vsc and trc should be disabled - in your case they aren't. I would get down to the dealership pretty sharpish.

I doubt a generic reader could diagnose a vsc fault.

It might not be a VSC/ABS fault, or atleast mine wasnt when the MAF sensor needed cleaning

The fact the car is randomly breaking say that the fault lies in the ABS/VSC and traction control system, something like that would most likely be a main dealer diagnostic.

Im with nrgizerbunny bout this one.

can you feel the pedal kicking back at you? or do you just feel the car breaking? gefinatly agree with above that its a main dealer prob or at least someone that knows toyotas systems

if you can feel the pedal kicking back at you the its probally an abs/ecu problem

if you dont feel the pedal then its prob an vsc/ecu fault

either way not good, could always disable the abs and vsc, it drives much better without  ****

**** disclaimer (not saying this is the correct thing to do) ******
