Stalls!

Help, please. My son's Toyota Hiace 3.0D turbo auto transmoission stalls when slowing to a stop for junctions and so on. Fuel filter has been replaced and the fuel line cleaned, the air filter has been checked. Even when the (Diesel) engine is warm, it needs several attempts to re-start. One suggestion is that the low revs idling valve (don't ask me, I'm a simple country woodcarver) is not working. The vehicle is a Japanese import camper van with an 'N' index plate. Has anyone any suggestions?

hello mate

- check with SCV located on the fuel injection pump using multitester;

- bleed fuel filter from air;

Cheers/Igor

Thanks Igor, the van goes to the engine guru on Monday. I'll pass on your suggestion: you're the second person to suggest this as a possible cause. Very grateful for your help. Ardroy
