Hi, I have a reading of 160, 140, 90, 140 psi in my 12r engine. I've done a wet/ dry test and there was no change. I have gotten a vrs gasket set but I am worried that I might get the engine open and need to replace one or more of the valves. Has anyone got any suggestions?

Hello, I had the same problem which has turned out to be quite bad exhaust valve recession on ports 2 and 4. Obviously had to take the head off to find this out, but thankfully the valves seem pretty hardwearing and were unaffected. Am sending the head off for unleaded valve seats to which I've been quoted £100 for the four - fingers crossed it stays this price....

The firm is in portsmouth - PCH Services.

Good luck!

Jamie.

Hey, that was it. I took off the head and the exhaust valve in the 3rd cylinder was in really bad shape and the seat had been destroyed. Got it all done for about 200 pounds but Im in norway so everything costs twice as much here. But now that I've put it all back together its idling rough and has a clicking sound. I used all new gaskets reset the valves hot when I put the head back on and again after a few hundred k's, changed the oil and water. Its driving me crazy
