12V Accessory Socket - Who Makes?

I have had a Peugeot 307 in the past and the 12v cigarette/ accessory socket had broken: the metal socket would detach and in order to seperate what ever had been plugged in there you had to slide the socket off with your fingers: dangerous and inconvenient of course. It had very sharp edges. Now I was told that they are all like this as this was a company fleet of Peugeots and they would regularly go back to the dealer for an £80 replacement (ouch!). The reason, a design flaw as the sockets were just that bit too small.

Now I have been driving with that satnav plugged in today and took a closer look, it does seem to be quite a tight fit. So I was just wondering who made the socket, Toyota or the French? If it was the French is it a different part to the above?

I guess if it did break I could fix it cheaper than that!

Don't know who made it or sourced the part, but mine has been used quite regularly the past 4 years

and hasn't broken yet, so I wouldn't worry. And if it DID break, I'd go to a breakers for another one...
