Beware Of T Sport Corolla

Hi guys

Seriously looking for a T Sport Corolla today.

Drove to Derby to check out a Corolla.

Arrived at JH cars in derby to check out, what i thought could be my next car......BUT

it went down hill when i arrived, the car had a flat Battery.

Not been cleaned and looked dirty inside and out.

Started the car sound good for 5 minutes and a tapping from the engine. Stopped the car and checked the oil, barely any oil on the dipstick. checked the coolant, no coolant in the res tank nor any when i opened the radiator cap.

They finally moved the car, had a water leak, but when i smelt it was gearbox oil.

but i thought must of been another motor.

Took the car up the road the rear brakes were shot and the rear caliper was definely seized. a blow from the exhaust.

gave it a road test took it to 8200rpm which was great, then i put it in six gear and booted it and the clutch was slipping BADLY.

Brought the car back.

Gearbox was definely leaking badly! the sump had been hit.

the front bumper had some bodge job done!

and the salesman just said AND..... and good luck else were.

Not good that mate especially when you have to travel a distance to see it.

Just be glad that you were able to identify the bad stuff on it and you walked away

At least you didn't buy it and well done for flagging it up to others.

I bought mine in Derby on Wednesday privately. It is a red 5 door PFL too. As always with used cars there are risks but so far so good. There were a couple of missing stamps in the service book. I called Toyota in Bury and it has been serviced there. I have sent the book off to them to be stamped up. Result!

I finally got one.

Its a local used car dealer, and i know the old boy as he use to be a aftersales director of my company that i work for.

The corolla was PDI and serviced in cambridge at Turners Toyota.

The motor was prefect and i'm well chuffed with it.

just given a long test drive to wales and back to cambridge. and didn't miss a beat!!!
