Hi guys, just got my new Corolla and found the club.

I've read a few pages of topics, but cant find the answer to my question.

Is there any way get an amp pre out from the original double din head unit?

Thanks in advance.

If your H/U looks like this

Then the back will look like this

But to answer your question, you can't directly connect an amp to it, you can try and change the Speakers outputs to preouts by using these, LINE OUTPUT CONVERTERS

there have been a few audio related questions recently and while i appreciate why people may want to take pre-out from the original headunit to save cost/keep mpg computer etc i would always argue for a new headunit.

Cheers guys.

I decided to go for an amp with high level input. I will need to replace the Speakers as well.

But again not finding that is the correct speaker size. Some posts say 5,25 and some 6,5. Which will be a straight fit?

6.5 for front definitely as I have done this.

Back I'm told 5.25. Not changed these myself as I have 6x9's

front - 6.5" components

rear - 5.25" coaxials (or 6.5" coaxials if you're badboy like me :P )

* points to signature * <-- for my audio kit list :)
