Wiper Blades - French/jap Built?

Guys,

Just looking to buy some new wipers, and a few website list the French Built Yaris and not the Jap built.

So stupid question for the day..... Are they the same when it comes to the wipers? :)

No they are different, that's why it asks if they are french or Jap built :D:

Jap built chassis numbers start JT1, and French are VNK if you are unsure just look at the chassis number, they will NOT interchange

Front wipers are available as standard fit whether Jap or French built - I used Bosch ones for my car. The rear wiper is the one that is country specific - the Jap built cars - up to Jan 2001 (vin JTD) use a special type of wiper where only the rubber can be replaced - or else the whole arm has to be changed. The later French cars (VNK) you are able to change the blade and housing without the need to change the arm.

Japan built new Rear Wiper Blades.. not rubber only - on eBay.

Works well - just fitted mine.
