16" Or 17" Wheels?

Was just wondering which size wheels were better for a corolla T sport, I think 17" look better but will the car handle better on 16"?

17's will give slightly better handling, lower profile tyres have less flex in the sidewall so tread contact is better maintained during cornering, 16's will give slightly better acceleration but the differences are slight so its down to choice really yeah 17s look better if you have lowered your rolla? 16s tyres are cheaper to buy

And also just to add that generally smaller wheels tend to tramline less than bigger, but then it is also down to tyre width.. generally larger wheels means wider tyres.. the main concern more than size is weight of the wheel.. the lighter the wheel the better accel, braking, handling.. all negligable differences but it adds up I guess when you are pushing the car..

See that ride height works for me, I plan on getting a set of 17's eventually and that height looks good I dont want it slammed.

how much are those springs then mate?

Think they are around £140 mark from MR T, I ordered them from Parts king who is a member on here, you get a discount.

I would go for these over the other cheaper brands.

Thats very expensive when you take into account you've still then got to get it sprayed. I think i'll be leaving that one alone.

Think positive once it's done it's done, shouldn't need to worry about a new one all the while you own the car.

I want to sort out the vibrations coming through my clutch pedal at higher rpms, starting to annoy me a bit.

17 inch tyres are cheaper than 16's due to the amount of cars coming with 17's as standard and 18 inch tyres are now cheaper than 17...

also on the your car wont be any slower on take off with 17's as the over all size of the wheel/tyre stay the same as you drop sidewall size ie 205 50 16 will be very close to a 205 45 17
