I recently had to replace my gearbox in my 06 corolla 1.4 d4d with a second hand one due to bearing failure, im just wondering how much oil to put into it? Do you just fill till its level with the edge of the filler hole? or just put in a specified amount. any other tips when doing this job, as in oil upgrade etc. Cheers lads.

I would fill it till the oil starts to come out of the filler/level plug. What grade are you going to use in it?

use whatever it specifies in the handbook and personally i would buy this from the dealers so you know you're getting the correct stuff. 75w-90 sounds sensible.

Used 75w-90 in it, new problem though the clutch drops to the floor with no resistance now, looking at it there seems to be no pressure on the piece that comes out of the gearbox.
