Daytime Running Lights

Hey Guys! I have just bought a set of Ring Lyra daytime running/night time styling lights and I am hoping to fit them tomorrow! I have to splice them into the side light circuit so that they work automatically when the engine is switched on. I know I must sound a bit dim (pardon the punn) but which wire is the positive one for the side lights circuit? Green or white? And it is the positive wire that I need to splice it into right? All helpful replies will be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks

I've just fitted Ring URSA DRLs to my Rav4. Should be the same connections...

The yellow cable from the relay box splices into the green (+) sidelight wire. The White and Black is the negative which goes to ground. I spliced into both positive with the yellow and the ground with the black on the sidelight wires. That just left the white wire to connect to an ignition fed source.

Hope that helps.

i have been pulled over twice with Ring Lyra daytime running/night time styling lights its really anoying because they both thought they were fog lights .. the first policewoman didnt know what daytime running lights were and the second policeman said i have to get them disconnected because they may dazzle someone

Providing they are E marked they are fine. Not everyone knows about them, some cars have them where the fog lights are, its difficult to tell if peopel are driving with fog lights or drl`s.

Mine mimic the Foglights, but I've never been pulled over.

And should they do so then there's no problem as in The Netherlands they're legal

and I've mounted and connected them accoring to the rules WITH E-type approval...

They're legal here in the UK too, Jan. Very odd... you'd think the police would've been briefed on these things. The amount of cars I see driving round with actual foglights on in broad daylight is crackers.
