Bodycare

Hi all,

Just a quick question regarding the bodycare cover.

I've recently had a quick flick through the documents i was given regarding and can't find anything relating to what it covers. I've also done a google search and searched the toyota site and also these forums but to no avail.

If anyone knows what is covered please could you post it?

Many Thanks

Paul

Sorry, can't say I've heard of it before. Anyone else know? Might be worth getting in touch with Toyota directly? :)

Bodycare cover.

If you mean the perforation warranty, it is detailed in the handbook or the service record, maybe even in both.

If you mean the gard x, or supaguard, then that is detailed in the relevant pack that you got with the car.

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the replies, it's very much appreciated.

My Aygo is 3 weeks old and on opening the door to step out, it's come back at me and with me having my foot out the door it's hit my foot. I've kept going with te motion not really realising and have scratched the door pocket or whatever other name it may have for it.

Well upset :( lol.

When I bought it, thy offered me the smart cover, tyre cover gap insurance and the body care. I wasn't interested but they put the bodycare in as courtesy, but they gave me no info on it. Obviously I'm wanting to know if this 'bodycare' cover will cover it as I'm rather childishly upset that it's happened.

I'll have to give them a call.

On another note, would this part be replaceable should it not be possible to repair replace it under this unknown cover they've given me lol?

Again thanks in advance!

I'm going to guess that this 'cover' is the fixed price SMART repair for your car covering a number of different instances and types of damage suitable that would ordinarily be appropriate for a SMART repair. Like any product, they would not offer if it if it did not make them money ;)

In this instance, I'll hazard a guess that with every car they sell (especially new) they will tag on this cover suggesting that, for the upfront payment of a couple of hundred quid, the policy will pay for the cost of repairing this scratch or that scuff or that trolley dent, as long as it fits their set criteria. Given all the differen types of insurance you can buy, you have to ask yourself: Is it worth it for me? If it is, all well and good - but be warned that come claim time, prepare to have your claim rejected ;)

I've owned a couple of BMWs with expensive runflat tyres. I opted to take the tyre insurance independently of the dealer because not only was the Dealership quoted price excessive, third party cover could be had for the cost of one tyre. Sometimes, its worth it to have them, but mostly...not. In my instance, the tyre insurance paid out as agreed and I was quids in with a total of three claims in 20-months.

I returned to the dealer to find out the situation, they advised that the Bodycare is for the paintwork, from decolouration to bird dropping stains etc...nothing to do with the interior scuffs etc.

On a side not, my bulb blew on the rear headlight, took it back in as it was 2.5 weeks old; when they've replaced it they scratched the bumper.

Give the guys credit, customer service so far is fantastic, can't complain...one thing i can complain about though is the cost of parts from the dealer!

They quoted me £244 for the drivers side door panel with labour! Plastic parts for goodness sake, beware!
