Problem With Pins In Brakes

Hi,

Have any of you had problems with the pins that keep your brake shoes on? Mine have disintegrated on my 54 t sport any info would be great thank you

A TS does not have pins holding brake shoes on, it uses pads front and rear,

A bit more info need really before anyone can give proper advise,

That is why I emphasised we need more info from the OP as handbrake shoes are a different entity from normal service brakes

Hey,

I broke mine on the old Avensis when struggling to get the worn /ridged drum off.

Cannot remember if it was the Toyota Dealer or a local motor factors or Halfords, but there are drum brake repair kits that have a selection of all the little bits like pins,springs etc for a few pounds.

It is the pins on the rear holding shoes on. The tops of the pins are there n the clips there is lots of swarf. Just wondered if it was a common fault coz a few people have said to get in touch with Toyota direct. Yes I have discs all the way round my car

nope not a common problem :thumbsup: should be a case of replacing the pics and clips if you mean the

Shoe Hold-down Spring and pin :thumbsup: both side about half way up the shoe?

Thank you. They are done on one side n everything is good, happened when my 1yr old was in the car and it really concerned me. My car is serviced every year and maintained to a high standard anything that needs done gets done. But much appreciate all help and comments
