Verso Satnav Not Working(Green Screen)

Hi i was wondering if anyone can help, i have a corolla verso 2004 edition the problem i am having is that the satnav unit has stopped working i get a green screen with text in the middle in english and japanese saying please insert correct map disc, i took the car to my local toyota dealer and tried one of their original map discs and the same message appears was advised to buy a new unit a price of £1,500 i think thats crazy but this fault has effected my front and back cameras and radio and cd as nothing works just a green screen, i would be greatful if anyone can help thank you.

Try removing the Battery for 30 minutes. Consider replacing the nav drive laser.

I have exactly the same problem with a 04 Corolla Verso T-Spirit. I have tried removing the Battery but same error appears on unit " please insert correct map disc." Local Toyota dealer is unable to fix it. Tigon were you able to resolve this problem? Any suggestions / solutions gratefully recieved.
