Had a Vauxhall Corsa years ago - they've always seemed a bit boring and dated looking.Don't like the staff in the local vauxhall dealership  and didn't like the corsa.

Had a Ford Ka, for around a year and a half, from new and it took rusty screws on the back window.

Got my first Toyota Yaris T3 - loved it :D :)

In a moment of madness I got a chevrolet matiz  absolutely hated it, worst 'car' on the road! :yucky: I was glad to see the back of the matiz - only kept it for a year. lots of things wrong with it and the dealers were the worst I have ever come across  :ffs:

Got another Yaris TR, still have it and still love it :yahoo:

Next car.... the new Yaris or an iQ.

Best cars I've had Toyota Yarises!

oooer...

First car was a little 1.2 litre Vauxhall Chevette, metallic blue and so slow it annoyed the milkman.

Swapped that for a 1.6 Vauxhall Astra, that was black and soon turned into an unreliable and impossible to keep clean pain in the neck.

Got rid of that and bought a little rocket propelled roller skate known as a Renault 5 Turbo. Tissue paper thin bodywork didn't inspire confidence so I soon got rid of it.

Went upmarket after that and bought a 2.9 litre Granada. Nice car that was.

Went mad and swapped the Granada for a whopping great Citroen XM. Sorted out all the wonky electrics and the suspension system then the auto transmission packed up.

Bought a 2 litre Ford Mondeo. Brightest red I've ever seen. Another nice car though not up to Granada or XM comfort levels.

Then went even madder than usual and bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee. A 4 litre engine from the ark, accelerated faster than it slowed down - nothing stopped it...except the price of petrol...

A few years ago, swapped the madness for a Prius.

1934 Hillman Minx Coupe - Christine learned to drive in this and took her test in Cheltenham on Gold Cup Day in a Morris Minor, and passed first time. Car, insurance, lessons and test cost less than £50.

1946 Austine 8

1963 Vauxhall (Victor?) Estate

1967 Triumph 2000 - crabbed so we sold it quick.

1969 Triumph 2000

1973 Triumph 2.5PI - the dream car, but 17mpg would be a bit rough nowadays. Terrible at trying to tow a caravan off wet grass, so.....

19?? Land Rover IIA LWB 2.4 petrol - no syncho on first and second and 3 gear sticks. A culture shock, but it would have taken the caravan to the top of Ben Nevis.

19?? Land Rover III LWB 2.6 6 cylinder petrol. Could frighten boy racers to death at traffic lights.

197? Austin Allegro at the same time as the Land Rovers. We hated it and used to leave the keys in whilst it was in car parks, but nobody was stupid enough to steal it.

1975 Land Rover III SWB 2.4 overdrive. When it was 17 years old we sold it for more than we paid for it, great car.

1990 Land Rover 90 diesel, a great vehicle.

1999 Land Rover Freelander, bought as we were giving up livestock as a transition back to 'proper cars'.

2002 Rover 75 Connoisseur SE Diesel, nice car, a bit sluggish.

2005 Rover 75 Connoisseur SE Diesel, a much better car, 76,000 miles of abolutely trouble free drive.

2010 Toyota Prius T-Spirit. The best car since the 2.5PI 35 years peviousely, but the Land Rovers were 'horses for courses'.

So the age span of our cars cover 76 years, but Christine has not been driving quite that long.

To be really bored you can see some pictures at http://www.flickr.com/photos/norwichhouse-oakridge/, see the 'Cars' set down the right-hand side.

In Order... from memory so I may miss some...

Opel Kadett GTE (lol)

Austin Metro

MG Metro

ST162 Celica

Soarer TT (GT-T) Import

Red MKIII Supra UK N/a Auto

Import SW-20 MR2 N/A

Barried up Fiesta Van

XR2i

Polo mki while the above supra was being converted to turbo and manual my first engine swap at 18 :D

Black Supra TT Aero (the one I kept for years and spent a small fortune on.) Import

Soarer TT (GT-TL) Import (awesome car, BBS rims, still on the soarer site, really rare greeny grey blue color.)

Gun Metal SW-20 MR2 T Top (UK car)

Gun Metal MKIII UK Supra Turbo

Red AW-11 MR2 (Later Tegan's car, I think its still on this forum? Great example!

Red MKIII UK Supra Turbo

White MKIII UK Supra N/A manual.

Ford Probe (worst car ever, bought while I fixed the black supra, but that broke too so I bought...)

Lada Samara, lol!

Mitsubishi FTO (nearly as bad as the probe)

Mki Eunos Roadster V-spec (awesome fun, slightly camp)

BMW 635CSi 240,000 miles, drove flawlessly, awesome - they don't make them like that any more!

Porsche 944 (the best handling car ever! Huge huge fun without going too fast)

Hilux Surf SSR-X Limited

E46 M3 - Fast, practical, Doesn't look out of place when I'm playing profesional on site, or at a race track, which is quite hard to pull off.

Hilux Surf SSR-X Limited (I missed it so I bought it back, I bought it twice so I’m listing it twice)

I've had 12 Toyotas!

What's next?

I want to get an LS400 as a donor car for V8ing the Hilux,

then possibly sell the BMW for something slower with less grip that is more fun. Tempted with a late hard top mkii MR2 and fit either a back top Beams or Camry V6. -then throttle bodies..

Shame I bought the Celica- if I hadn't all my Toyotas would have been correct wheel drive.

1986 Vauxhall Cavalier 1600. As above.

1987 Vauxhall Cavalier SRi. Good, but not nearly as good as the Belgian built 1984 model.

1990 VW Golf GTi. OK car but think it had been seriously clocked.

1991 VW Golf GTi. Simply the best car ever. Kept for 6 years, sold with 152K miles on clock, and it was still as good as when I bought it with 32K.

1998 VW Golf 1600. OK but missed that GTi.

2003 VW Polo 1200. Only bought due to a failed attempt at becoming a driving instructor.

2001 VW Bora diesel. OK, but water leaks annoying.

Ford fiesta 1.3 lx :-(

Only had it 4 weeks and it was very very poorly

Vauxhall corsa c 1.2 :-)

I class this as my first car and loved it, easy to drive and

cheap

Vauxhall astra sri 1.7 cdti :-(

Wish I'd got the 1.9 instead, to heavy and not enough power

Toyota corolla tsport :-)

Loved it, fact still love it, only got rid of it because I needed better mpg

Toyota auris Tspirit 2.0 d4d :-S

Unsure on this one, it's good on fuel, I like all the gadgets like auto lights, wipers etc but the performance is lacking for a 2.0 diesel

I will try and do this from my first car when I was 17, I have had quite a few cars so its hard to remember!

1. B Reg Ford Escort 1.1L - Loved it as it was my first car, I did not know any better!

2. C Reg Ford Escort XR3i - I was 17 in 1997 so I grew up in the boy racer era. You had to have one of these.

3. E Reg Ford Fiesta XR2 - As XR3i.

4. G Reg Vauxhall Astra GTE - Cornered like a shed.

5. C Reg Ford Escort RS Turbo Series 1 - Loved this car but I killed it with high motorway mileage.

6. H Reg Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI - Probably the best car I have ever owned.

7. C Reg Ford Fiesta XR2 convertible - Not factory made, terrible car!

8. H Reg Ford Escort XR3i cabriolet - Average car

9. M Reg Ford Escort MK V Cabriolet - I liked this one as it has a power roof!

10. R Reg BMW 325i - I was only 21 when I bought this, it was only 3 years old. Good solid car.

11. 52 Reg Peugeot 306 cabriolet - Bought this brand new in 2002, aged 22. I only kept it for 6 months though as my daughter arrived.

12. 03 Reg Citreon Saxo VTR - Bought to save money, again brand new. Good little car in my opinion.

13. 55 Reg Mitsubishi L200 Warrior - Wanted and Evo VIII But my Girlfriend could not get insured so I went for something totally different. Very disappointed with it.

14. E Reg Renault 5 GT Turbo - I never had this during the era so I bought this as a project. Spent 9k on it but recently broke it for parts as the Shell went rotten. I only did 1300 miles or so in it so it spent its time just sitting in my Barn. Loved the retro look and power it produced.

15. N Reg Renault Clio Williams 3 - Split with Girlfriend who took me to the cleaners! About all I could afford after that!

16. 08 Mini Cooper D - Present car that girlfriend primarily drives. Excellent MPG, averaging 70mpg combined.

17. 06 Reg Toyota Corolla T-Sport Compressor - Good car but its now up for sale as I do not use it.

I was a 90 teenager and I loved the late 80s hot hatches. Thats what all the "cool" kids drove around! Cost me a fortune in insurance etc but I loved them cars.

Only owned two cars so far:

1) Ford Fiesta Flight 1.3 - Very nice handling and road feel but everything else was terrible; Engine totally gutless and less power than a 1.0 VVTi!

2) Toyota Yaris T-Spirit 1.4 D4D - Current car, love it to bits  Better than the Fiesta in every single way, except the handling is a more lurchy and the road feel is virtually non-existent due to too much power assist (I do find this tends to be the case with Electric Power Steering vs Hydraulic). Does make parking manoeuvres a doddle tho' :)
