Consult Regarding Corolla S 2003 Please Help

Hello everyone, I am looking into purchasing a Corolla S 2003, some people have advised me that it presents problems like: consuming oil, engine problems and ecu computer problems. Also in the other hand some people have advised me it is a very reliable car and that it does not present problems. I am very confused in regards to the liability of this car and very afraid of taking a decision of purchase. Please help!!!
