Ahhhhh. Ye of no faith!

Have I not been warning of tbis fenomenum for years ? And did I get any cognisance???? No.

So now you know - leave yer hinges un-cared for on yer 5 door beasts and well before the end of its life it will suffer "Hinge Rot". A condition, as PK states, which is terminal. No guarantee; no replacement. And whats worse when yer car goes through the shredder, the hinges wreck the rotor blades. So where scrap cars are worth upwards of £400 nowadays, the RAV4 will have to be buried alongside the nuclear non-recyclate living at sellafield. It'll cost a fortune !!!

Cut yer losses now and get them rear doors welded up. Remove the glove box as it has 2 hinges; any ash-trays; sun-visors;... need I go on??

I'm just so sorry for those who have been led astray by supposed experts who saw the 5 door as the panacea to all needs. it'll be panadol ye'll need now !! :lol:
