Long Spark Plug Socket

They don't make it easy these days to do the simple tasks on a car engine.

Bought some nice new shiny Iridium spark plugs for my Avensis Verso a couple of weeks ago.

Went to change them today after replacing the Battery.

Took off the plastic cover and unbolted the ignition lead and then realised that the actual spark

plug is well recessed. I mean really well recessed.

Can anyone tell me the rough distance I need a long spark plug socket to be? Also what is the

actual diameter of the spark plus 13mm or 16mm?

I'm sure I have a tool that will do it but need to find the thing now as never used it for about

10 years.

I had to use my thinner spark plug socket when I did mine, so I'd guess at 13mm. They are deep but a standard extension bar on a ratchet should do you.

Duh....brain dead......will take one of the spark plugs into car shop and get correct diameter spark plug socket

and then use the various extensions I have to reach down into the engine.
