Abs Code 35 Help

Hi there - can anyone help?

I have read the diagnostic codes as the ABS light is on and code 35 displays:

_______________________________________________________________________

Code 35 - Open in left front or right rear wheel speed sensor circuit.

_______________________________________________________________________

How are they judging which is left/right i.e. are they looking at the car from the front / back or sat in the vehicle?

put another way which is 'left front' nearside / offside and 'right rear' nearside / offside

Many thanks

They sat in the car.

I have never understood that about nearside and offside neither. The first part of your question was easy to answer.

Hi I had a similar fault in my Carina E when I bought it, the front Left ABS senor was cracked (so that means sit in the drivers seat and face forward:-) and needed replacing that is the "offside front" the brake systems in most cars are crossed in an X so I if one goes you have 1 Front disk and 1 rear drum to stop you rather than if the front went try stopping the car using just the handbrake!

Anyway I had to bleed that brake system after replacing the sensor for the fault to dissapear, whether its just Toyota or all ABS ssytem I dont know but they seem to malfunction if the brake fluid is dirty also...

The "Near and offside" thing is easy enough to remember.

"Near side" means drivers side or the side nearest to you when your driving

"Offside" means passengers side or side furthest away when behind the wheel
