Wanted a tow bar and the elecrics several years ago for my passat,VW price was £250 for the towbar and almost the same for the electris etc.went to local breakers and got a geuine VW swan neck that was like new complete with electric bits for £35.oo.Fitted it myself and saved a fortune.

There are not many Auris being dismantled cos they a a fairly new model,so even a less chance of finding one with a decent towbar.But it must be worth a search on eBay,you never know your luck.

Detachables will cost you about £300 fitting it youself with the electrics. Local trailer/caravan dealers will charge about £150 for a normal one including fitting, which what I paid. Don't think you'll find one in a breakers though.
