Thanks Mate.

Looks brilliant!

now a 205/40-17 is 4%( rolling radius) than the standard 195/55-16.

So my question is: does the car feel lower geared than normally? Can you feel any difference?

Most people go for either 205/45-17 or 215/45-17.

I have got two sets of wheels( standard 16x6.5 and some 17x7) and I am in the dilemma of choosing what set and size to use for track( with Toyo R888) and what set and size to use for road?

Should I use the standard 16" for track: with 195/50-16 R888 (16" R888 significantly cheaper than 17! R888)

Use my 17" for road with some 215/45-17 roadtyres probable Continental contisport 3

or use my 17" for track: here there I have two size options on R888: 215/45-17( slightly larger than 195/55-16) and 205/40-17?

Or should I just run one set of wheels with a combined road and track tyre eg. yokohama advan neova AD08 in size 205/45-17

cant decide what to do

Thanks :D

Those Work wheels were the only one i really liked for the CTS. Expensive, but SOOOO nice! :)

It is a difference indeed. But at my speedo not so much. Driving 127 km/h on clock is 120 km/h on GPS. 105 is 100 on GPS.

And i can't feel any difference. At low speeds there is no difference at all.

I didnt go for 215-45 because i wanted a flatt tire. so 40 it was. And with 40, 205 was the best to have the smallest difference.

If i have to make a choise like that i start with the question. Which wheels do i like the most? The set you like the most i should use for road. Because you will drive more on the road than track i supose...

The other set for track use.

16 inch tires are cheaper than 17. And also 40-17 is cheaper than 45.

Conclusion. 2 sets and make up your mind which wheels you like the most. those for the road and other track.

tire size. Don't make much difference ;)

Thanks Buddy.

I have almost come to the same conclusion as you suggest. ie nice wheels( 17") for every day driving and the second set( standard 16") for track.

However on the other hand: for everyday driving the tire should ideally be more comfort biased and the track tire more performance biased and that would suggest 16" for road and 17" for track?

:crybaby:

So I am seriously considering buying yokohama advan neova ad08 on the 17s for both road and track. but would they be too compromised for the road?

Here are my 17"

Do you have doubt?

Seriously. Advan for road use. Only tire choise then. If you want a little comfort you should get 45. But i still have a lot of comfort. Even lowered.
