Battery

Hello,

I am having great difficulty in sourcing a Battery for my 2000 MY Yaris 1.0 VVTi. I have just obtained one for a very good price, but the clamp and Battery tray don't fit it.

What are the correct specifications and how much should I be paying for the right one?

Regards,

it's £70 fitted at a Toyota dealer under their fixed price promise.

I see.

I was looking for something a bit cheaper as I am a student in college at the moment. I'm also not sure if Toyota dealers operate such a scheme in Ireland.

After much thinking and deliberation I've decided to hold onto the cheap Battery I bought and buy a universal clamp from Halfords to hold it in place.

Thanks anyway.

If any one needs a Battery try

Alphabatteries Ltd. 01706 356356 most helpful.

My Yaris Diesel turned out needed a 078 Battery.

Seems most Battery listings are wrong.

@ £49.99 delivered inc vat. with a 4year warranty.

Cant be bad.

My wife's Yaris needed a Battery when we bought it last year. The original was a Panasonic Battery. All the web sites offer batteries that won't fit the standard clamp arrangement as the Panasonic had a gap between the cell caps and the clamp fitted into this gap. All the replacements are flat topped so the clamp won't fit.

Rather than pay Toyota prices I modified the clamp and the car has run faultlessly since. Why is it so difficult to get these things right sometimes?
