Hi-Lux Wont Turn Over.

Hi folks.

I was wondering if anyone can help solve my problem? I have a 1991 hi-lux project that ive been doing up for a few years. Usually it starts first time everytime, but i let the Battery go too flat so it wasnt cranking the engine fast enough to start it. So i pulled the Battery out, charged it and put it back in. Unfortunately when i put it back in i made a schoolboy error and put the +/- terminals on the wrong way.. (idiot i know.) But it was literally just for a split second because of the spark it gave off.. so i swapped them back the correct way.. turned the ignition, and the dash lights came on. But now its not cranking at all!!

Ive checked all the fuses i can, but i cant test the relays (or can i?). I also only seem to be able to find one fuse box in the whole truck which is under the bonnet next to the Battery, but does anyone know if theres another one somewhere?

Does anyone have any suggestions? Or has this happened to anyone before?

Im guessing its maybe a burnt out fuse, relay, or wire possibly to the starter! how can i check this?

thanks for looking.

i look forward to your replies.

if yours is a mk3 then there is also a small fuse box on the drivers kick panel,

are you sure you have checked the link fuses, there in the under bonnet fuse panel

there bolted in so could easy be missed
