Topic Titles - A Will Of Their Own!

Could someone take a look at how Topic Titles are working?

Although it's possible to type and edit the text in the body of a posting without problem - edit spelling, use of Caps and Lower Case, etc. - however carefully you write the text of a new Topic Title, it seems undergo some for of "auto-correction" as soon as you post it.

Try creating this as a Topic Title:

SMFs and DMFs - What do you know?

What you'll get is:

Smfs And Dmfs - What Do You Know?

It's also frustrating that the creator of a new Topic Title (i.e. original poster) cannot edit the Title he's just created! (I do understand why subsequent contributors shouldn't be able to do this, of course.)
