Fuel Leak

My 2002 petrol Avenesis has an intermittent fuel leak from what appears to be a pressure relief valve in the middle of the fuel rail. The leak only occurs occasionaly on start up then stops, but in doing so dumps about 50 mls of petrol into the shallow trough which houses the injectors. Is the solution to replace the fuel rail or is this a symptom of a fault elsewhere in the system?
