Nice, but as you say, a little less gimmiky would be better. Like the idea you can have it higher up too using those panels to fit on it. Nicely spotted David. Not too bad a price either before shipping at any rate.

Maybe the speaker bit could be removed and nicely blanked over. Might have another pic with it open will check

I have some information from a guy called Christian who has mounted his on some wood and used wide Velcro to mount it.

It needs to be a matt plastic IMO, so that it mixes in with the OE plastics in the car.
