Trouble With Car Alarm Toyota Avensis D4D 2008 Can It Be Disabled ?

Hi all been having problems with car alarm goes off randomly cant seem to find out why .

I was wandering if you can disable the alarm at all .

It seems if i lock the car with the key in the door were ok but if i lock with fob it maybe wait 10 20 mins then pop off at random ???

Any clues or suggestions would be welcomed plus it's good to hear from you all many thanks jon!!!

If you lock it with the key, the alarm is not being set so it won't go off. That is the only way to disable it. The cause of the false arming is most likely to be the intrusion sensor (mounted in the frontmost interior light)

Simple to diagnose, turn off the intrusion sensor (read owners manual) and set alarm. If it doesn't go off, replace the sensor. If it still goes off, troubleshoot the door switches. Check for trapped seatbelts that have bent panels where the door switches sit.

Last thing that is sort of common is short in boot switch.
