Air Pump 02 Celica Tsport

Recently sold my VVTI and bought a TS but,

Today went to TOYOTA service for a small service and also ask them if they could make a diagnostic aswell.

They just ring me saying , i do not have a secondary air pump and for a replace would be expensive, something like £1200.

Now im wondering if would affect the M.O.T which will be in a month and if in Short/Long Term would affect something.

I believe the last owner had a Air induction Kit thats why the missing airpump.

Please if you know something about it let me know, is it better to get an air induction kit aswell to replace ?

EDIT ; From all i heard , not having a secondary air pump will affect the cat when its really cold as it will take more time to warm , is this true ?
