Hi all,

My moron of a friend has filled up her oil and driven off without replacing her cap!

Does anyone know where I can get one from (MR2 mk3)? Or if they are the same fitment as any other model?

Thanks in advance all.

Thanks for the help guys.

I've just phones Toyota, and they are only on average £12 there.

Problem is I need to know the chassis number before they'll help me, and she's in work!

Anyone have a chassis number handy for a mk3?

Thanks again all, I'm a member of my own model's forum, and these places are invaluable.

HI Luke,is your friend driving around with no oil filler cap. how much oil is the engine losing, never mind the mess.

My father forgot to replace the dipstick on his car many years ago and knocked out the bearings in the engine cos of oil loss.

Hi mate,

No shes not. She's caught the train to work today. Which is part of my problem, she can't go an look at her chassis number for me.

I'm trying to find out a number, so I can buy one and pick her up from work and give it to her.

If you know her reg number and ring a toyota dealer they may be able to give you the number.

i know where i have mine seviced when they stick my reg number in their system everything comes up on the screen including all work done on the car inluding warranty work.

I am surprised that your dealer was not able to do his.

maybe its not on there data base for some reason.

I tried the reg number, they didnt have it on their system for some reason.

When I type it into part finder websites, it works fine though.

If you pm me your reg I might be able to find it for you.

If its the 1.8 1zzfe engine the part number is

12180-21010 or

12180-55010. For the earlier Mk3
