Electric Window Stops On Close

Hello All

Having problems with the electric window on the drivers door.

It sometimes seems to runs out of juice, when going to close position. I have to wait a few minutes before it will fully close. It does not do this all the time, sometimes it shuts first time. The passenger window works every time.

Any ideas how to fix the problem?

Appreciate any help.

Rav4 3dr cruiser 2004 model.

Hi Daz and welcome.

Personally I tend to go for the easy solution first before thinking £ signs.

In 8 years the drivers window will have been up and down (I imagine) more than the passenger one.

I was amazed when cleaning out the window channels on mine how much muck had got in there!

All I used was a damp cloth and a chopstick to push the cloth into the channel and move it up and down.

Maybe this is a way of helping to solve your problem,eh?

All the best with this,

Yes cleaning first then finish with a little spray of Mr Sheen or other silicone cleaner in the runners.

They probably can't sell them online because they are pointy sticks.

'Spect they come under the same "RULE" that prevented a schoolkid from buying a stationery set because there was "A BLADE" in the pencil sharpener!! :disgust::ermm:
