hi all.would any one know why i keep getting link error messages while trying to diagnose a misfire causing the d4d to go into safe mode?ive tried 2 fault readers now both come up with link error messages.is it the car?please help.this misfire is doing my head in.cheers.

diesel engins only became obd compliant in 2004 and only certain code readers will read prior to this year.

oh just my luck.its got the 16 pin socket .im getting a miss fire and it goes into limp mode.if i turn engine off it clears.its wierd.

You can get the flash codes without a code reader. Might only be 2 digits for your model.
