got back from work today, (4.5 miles) and smelt burning, there was small amount smoke coming from my rear disc brake and massive amounts of heat, the other side was fine so think its just the one side stuck on, is there a quick fix for this?

Thanks in advance.

The pads will be glazed over now and probably useless,so, after jacking up the car, remove wheel, release the bleed nipple and gently lever the piston right back in, tighten the bleed nipple, fit new pads, top up fluid reservoir and apply the brakes watching that they retract slightly when the pressure is released

The caliper will be stuck on most likely because the piston is corroded and stuck on. You may be able to clean it up and save the caliper but you will almost certainly need new pads and possible the caliper as well

Kingo
