Toyota Corolla 1.6 From 05 Upwards, A Good Choice ?

Within the next month I will have to decide which car I am going to buy as my second car.

I have been looking at 3 cars, Seat Ibiza mk4, Ford Focus mk2 and the Corolla as mentioned in the title.

Why do you guys recommend I buy the Corolla ? Give me some good and bad information on it.

Also, a few questions I have:

Is there a lot of supply for detailing the car, both inside and outside ?

How reliable is the car ?

What is the drive like ?

I am looking to decide pretty quickly between the three so I can start looking at buying.

Hi,

Have had a '56 1.6 colour collection for 2 years - no problems.

Does me 40 mpg, motorway/town driving, though probably a lot less if you are heavy footed around town

Plenty of poke when you need it, though if I was still doing lots of motorway cruising I would look for something a bit quieter, always feels like it needs a 6th gear at 70mph.

Go for a colour collection or T3 variant with all the extras.

Only real problem regularly mentioned in the forum on the standard petrol models seems to be the heater matirix blocks up on the 2002 models.

Plenty of other problems like gearboxes, but they seem to be related to the 1.8 T Sport and Compressor models.

The SR is just a standard 1.6 but with a few body extras, but they usually seem to be more expensive and often 'well' used.

Was thinking about buying a T-sport, but are they not really expensive to run ?

Also having trouble finding Corollas for sale near where I live.
