Would it be an idea to set up a link between “our” TOC and Lexus Owner Club.

Just been having a look at LOC about the IS220d engine and some of its issues! as I am sniffing around trading my 4.2

and there are some interesting threads.

Am I right in assuming it is the same 2.2 diesel engine in the Lexus as in the 4.3 RAV

plus other bits and bobs like EGRs etc

I can’t see them staying No.1 in JD Power Survey given the trouble they are having with this set-up.

Did I hear someone say Honda!!!!!!!!!!!

Nigel did you know that Lexus have stopped putting the diesel engine in the Is 200 range, they only do petrol versions now. Probably is the same engine as the Rav 4, and couldn,t live with the fact they where having so many issues with it.

the first generation is200 had the 6 cylinder 2 litre in-line petrol engine; no torque and drinks petrol like a german beer pipe (about 26mpg).

i know as i had two of them; 2000 & 2003 both automatics.

Did I hear someone say Honda!!!!!!!!!!!

It shares the same 2.2 setup

Don't kid yourself about Honda, we have them in the group, they are no better/worse than anybody else, cracked manifolds and exhaust gasses in your car are rife!

Kingo

I belive from 2009 onwards, but will be corrected if I am wrong!!!!! 150BHP engine springs to mind, across the range.

And Kingo spot on with the CRV, members might like to go on their Owners Forum, and see the problems they have.

I like the way the Rav 180 looks, but Charlie Farlie’s numerous probs with his scare me a bit!
