Anyone Tried Painting Self Fitted Rear Parking Sensors

Hi,

Planning to fit steelmate PTS D1 rear parking sensors to my Avensis. Since they come in black colour I would like to paint them to decuma grey. Someone told me that if I paint them by a brush and the paint coat is too thick then the sensors wont work..?? and recommended that I get a spray can paint instead.

Now I am a bit scared to paint them at all because if I mess it up...everything will go to waste and I might damage the appearance of the car..??

Can someone who has tried to colour the parking sensors share their experience and tell me if its too complex or how to go about it..??

Thanks,

The Toyota sensors come with a sort of foam bung that you fit inside the sensor, then paint them, and remove the bung

They are sensitive and do not like paint inside them

PLUS, ordinary spray paint on plastics is no good, you ideally need a plasticised primer/paint.

Kingo
