Hi Guys,

My avensis keeps saying ' low oil level ' with an audible noise even though the level is ok. This was reported recently at the Dealers who did the head gasket. I have checked the connection on sender bolted to the front of the sump and made sure the contacts are good. Anyone out there have any experience of this being anything other than the sender? The Dealer wants £271.43 + vat for a new one and I'm loathe to change it before trying all other avenues first.

Technician - fix thyself.

Remove the unit and test with a multi-meter.
