Hi,

My engine light has come on and I want to buy a reader which tells me the issue and clears the problem off my dash.

I've found this but not sure if its going to do what I want. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

It's 2002 1.6

Hi Rob555.

Take a look at the Engine light on post.

Cheers

Thanks, I had a look through but I'm not keen to spend that much on a reader.

I just need to know if the one I've chosen will do the job

Hi,

Can see no reason why that U480 reader should not work, but no first hand experience.

On that other post I bought this £24 reader recommended by Steven252, it does work on the rolla, and has the advantage that it also reads Live Data , that is reading working voltages of the sensors etc.

Arrived next day from this seller.

I did a search for the reader you listed and it mentions that it gives the code that you then look up in a booklet. I don't see why it wouldn't work on your car (just make sure your car is OBDII compliant). Personally I would go for one that gives you the code AND tells you what the fault is.
